Our Pinot Gris is from two separate parts of the lower vineyard section, which have quite deep mixed volcanic loams and alluvial silts over limestone. The vines offer a consistent and moderate yield of approximately 2 tonnes to the acre. Hands on viticulture, extensive use of green inputs – composting, winter cover crops, under vine mulch – mechanical weeding, no pesticides and limited (if any) irrigation. Sourced from some of the oldest Pinot Gris vines in Victoria, planted 1996, the fruit give depth and palate weight to the final wine.
Previous vintages include: James Halliday 2017 90 points, James Halliday 2010 94 points, 2011 94points, 2012 93 points; Gold Medal Trophy 2010 Wine Show for “Best Aromatic Wine”; Royal Melbourne Wine Awards 2013 – Gold Medal; WineWise Small Vigneron Awards 2013 – Silver Medal; Boutique Wine Awards 2013 – Bronze Medal; 29th Annual Ballarat Wine Show 2013 – Bronze Medal; Geelong Wine Show 2013 – Bronze Medal
