The Vineyard |

Clyde Park Vineyard is
ideally situated and the vines are planted on the undulating, north easterly
slopes and alluvial flats of a spacious amphitheatre. This area enjoys
maximum exposure to sunlight whilst the river offers warmth and wind
protection. The influences of the climate provide prolonged ripening
conditions, resulting in fully ripe grapes with intense varietal characters,
high natural acidity and fine tannins.
The vineyard is meticulously maintained to provide fruit of optimum quality. Vines are hand-pruned, trained and harvested. On-going vine trellising and canopy management innovations continue to fine-tune the vineyard to produce grapes with maximum flavour concentration.
All fruit is 100% Estate grown. The classic Burgundian varieties of Pinot Noir (5.3 Ha) and Chardonnay (2.9 Ha) account for the majority of vines planted. Small blocks, each varying in aspect, elevation, soil type and clone results in parcels of grapes expressing differing aromatic and flavour nuances. Sauvignon Blanc (1.6 Ha), Pinot Gris (1.2 Ha) and Shiraz (2.1 Ha) make up the balance of area under vine. Block G Shiraz: River Flat: |
